Directions
- Take each hot dog and cut it open lengthwise, taking care not to cut them all the way through.
- Stuff the hot dogs with a piece of cheese and add a little mustard, ketchup or other sauce if you like.
- Wrap each of the hot dogs with a slice of bacon, which shouldn’t be too thick. Use a couple of toothpicks to secure the bacon. You can dip the toothpicks into water before using them, to prevent them from getting burned while grilling the hot dogs.
- Grill the hot dogs at about 350 F for about 45 to 60 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked through and really crispy.
- Allow the hot dogs to cool down for at least 5 minutes and then remove the toothpicks, so the bacon won’t unwrap.
- Place one hot dog into each bun and add some mustard, ketchup or any other sauce of your choice. You can also add some kind of salad or any other toppings you like with your hot dogs. Enjoy them while they are still warm!
These special Labor Day BBQ party Hot Dogs are sure to become an all-time classic for your BBQ parties once you have tried them. Prepare them a day ahead so you won’t have last minute stress on the actual celebration day and you only have to grill them. You can add some pickles to round it up and serve them with fries or chips for a mouthwatering, memorable BBQ dish.
