Today, let’s discuss your local home improvement store.  There are plenty of them out there, and they have resources to help you tackle your home improvement projects. Let me show you how you can use them to help you!

How your home improvement store can help you:

  1. Face-to-face lessons/workshops on D.I.Y.projects that may be an interest to you.
  2. New projects to explore in your local store.
  3. Materials, and products can be purchased at the store. Questions can be answered at time of purchase.
  4. Just for ideas! Don’t have a project yet? Go visit your local store tor inspiration and to talk to other home do-it-yourself’ homeowners.

Internet resources:

Don’t want to leave the comfort of your home? Want to do your research before you hit the store? How about exploring You Tube?  This online video resource has plenty of videos made from homeowners, and from the home improvement stores.  Check out the one below on how to choose the right paint, color, and techniques.

  1. I have spent a lot of time in both Home Depot and Lowes and I must say that Home Depot tends to have more competent help. You must be careful who you ask for help. Simply ask an associate for the pro who knows the most about the topic you are trying to find information for. They will gladly find that person for you.
