‘Simple Must-Do’ Tips – Sharing Bathroom, Area Rugs & Mirrors

Simple Organizing Ideas for a Shared Bathroom:

  • De-clutter the bathroom by ridding the shelves and drawers of those items or products that are no longer needed. If it has been there for over six months without being used, then it is not needed.
  • Transfer the medicines to the kitchen since research has shown that steam and heat from the bathroom can ruin your medicines.
  • Every user of the bathroom should have an assigned marked or different colored basket to put his or her toiletries in. Since it is not advisable to share things like eye drops, grooming supplies and other toiletries, this step is necessary.
  • Create places for the towels, extra toilet paper and soap. Every other thing has to go to the storage or elsewhere.

How to Choose the Perfect Living Room Area Rug

It would interest you to know that wall-to-wall carpeting for living rooms is fast becoming obsolete. The in-thing now is the use of area rugs, especially when it comes to the living room. They are known to be more practical and at the same time, beautiful but only, if you choose and use them appropriately. Check out the following tips.

Texture: This is another tip that comes in handy when it comes to how to choose area rugs for your living room. Prior to buying your rug, you should decide the texture you want. If you need a rug that has soft feeling and adds warmth to the living room, then wool is the texture to go for. If you need rugs that are a bit rough, then you should go for those made from natural materials like jute and sisal. Silk is another material for soft rugs but it comes more expensive and easily absorbs stains and dirt.

How to Creatively Decorate with Mirrors

Decorating the Hallways and Staircases: Let me shift my attention to the hallway or staircase. Do you know you can add a lot of glamour to this part of your home when you hang mirrors that reflect light along the walls? Yes, this type of decoration is known to make darker spaces lighter and to spruce up the look, unique designs like colorful flowers can also be painted on the mirror frames. If you are not that good in artistic designs, you can just paint plain and simple but color-matching stripes along the edges of the frames so that it blends with the existing color scheme of your home.
