Think twice before choosing a nursery theme
Many parents have a tendency to create a theme in their tiny one’s room. However, it is pointless and impractical though the thought of decorating the nursery with only matching items is a pleasing one. You have to spend beyond your expectation in case of creating a Disney or fairy tale-themed interior.
So, pick up one thing like a funky area rug or an antique crib as the focal point of the room and design the place around it. It will not be difficult to find accessories that match to the item you have focused on.
Creating a charming nursery: decorate the walls
The walls of a nursery are important to the design scheme of the entire room. Apart from painting them with one or couple of playful colors, decorate them with artful endeavors. Either purchase some wall decorations from thrift stores or rely on handmade pieces. Take self-drawn pictures or cut coordinating fabrics in desired shapes. After that, frame the pieces with rectangular or square piece of fabrics. Place the artworks on real frames and hang them on the walls.

Give a personal touch to their nursery
Any handmade item for the nursery will reduce the cost. The items will be more special if you can make them by yourself. Choose a colorful and washable yarn and knit a blanket for your baby. Though it is not an easy task, it will be a rewarding one. Otherwise, buy a vintage handmade blanket from your local thrift store. There is always something special about handmade goods.
Do some thrifty shopping
Instead of buying from superstores, check out the flea markets or local vintage shops for getting your required items at a cheap cost. Buy furniture items and accessories from these shops and then give them a paint job.

Another nice way to save your money is to use the spare items of other rooms in your house. If you have a spare side table, an armoire, or baskets, bring them to the nursery and decorate the place accordingly. If possible, craft storage options or other accessories. For example, you can make a hanging shelf with wooden shelves and knotted ropes. It will help you slashing the expenses.
A budget decoration does not mean that the room cannot be charming or stylish. Rely more on homemade and vintage finds to relieve the financial stress.
