Materials Needed
- 13 pcs. Small stems of herbs (choose varying colors and shapes)
- 3 pcs. stems of small berries (blueberries with lavender thyme, oregano and sage)
- 1 roll Floral tape
- 1 – 2 meters Narrow ribbon or lace
- Scissors
Directions
- Begin with the backbone of your boutonniere. You can do this by starting with a leaf stem like sage to be. This will serve as the support trunk of your boutonniere.
- Add the tall and thin herbs like rosemary and lavender on top of the leaf. Don’t worry about the placement. It’s fine to have unequal arrangements like one is higher than the other.
- Your small and round herbs like thyme blossom, fruit-like blueberries, and oregano are the once that should be placed in front.
- For heavier items, it is always nice to see them at the bottom with lean stems poking out the top.
- Secure all your herbs with floral tape.
- To cover the floral tape, wrap it around with ribbon or lace neatly several times. This allows disguising the floral tape and leaving a length of ribbon free to tie up the ribbon at the back of the boutonniere.
- Check if everything is stable and firm.
