Home Organization: How to Store your Artificial Christmas Tree
If taken good care of, artificial trees can last for years. Make sure to consider the weight of the tree before deciding on the place where to store it. They are usually heavy to be transferred to an attic or to another floor. We recommend storing them on the same floor where it is used. Maybe in an adjacent garage, closet or a storage room.
Organization Ideas: Create an Ornament Storage Box
No matter how well you pack or bubble wrap them; ornaments are notorious enough for ending up broken. So, this year instead of trying to figure out a perfect way to pack them, invest in some boxes that are made especially for them. Not only will it make your depressing packing task easier, it will ensure that ornaments are ready for use next season. One tip here is to buy all same kinds of tubs/boxes so that they can stack easily, and will nest while empty.
Declutter your Holiday Decorations: Storing Holiday Lights
Get rid of the tangled mess by putting your old shoeboxes to use. Keep your holiday lights untangled by wrapping them around the trimmed lids and storing them inside the shoe boxes. Alternatively, you can simply wrap them around a hanger. You can easily put several stands together and save yourself the headache of having to untangle those Christmas lights next year.

Make An ‘Open First Box’
While putting up the holiday decorations, are there some things that you need before other things? For instance, do you get the tree stand out before cutting or buying the Christmas tree? Or do you start working on holiday cards before putting the garlands up? If this sounds like you, consider making an open first box. This way you will not have to hunt around for things that you need early in the season neither will you have to open several boxes.
