Kitchen Organization: Taming Your Disorganized Pantry

Hardly any homeowner is there who does not think about a gorgeous kitchen renovation. As kitchen is the hub of activities in a home, it is important to have an organized and neatly arranged kitchen to get all the cooking work done. One of the most vital parts of kitchen organization is to have an organized pantry. You do not need to go crazy over how to clean up and organize that space as these helpful tips will help you along the way.

Kitchen Organization: Taming Your Disorganized Pantry

Clean & Organize Regularly

Regular cleaning is a good way to keep the mess coming back! Shake your laziness off and be prepared to clean up the place and make small organization on a regular basis. In addition, sort through the pantry regularly to decide what you should keep and what to discard so that the place does not turn into a mess of clutter.

Divide & Section the Pantry

Dividing the pantry into several areas will help you keeping the food items and different ingredients organized and cut short you meal preparation time. You can separate the areas according to categories like portable lunches, baking, weekend dinners, bbq, etc. and store relative items in the designated sections. Label each section for easy finding. Remember keeping the most often-used sections in easy reach or in front part.

Glass Jars & Labels

Apart from categorizing the pantry, another handy organization trick is to devise a way to easily find what you want. A good idea is to keep the ingredients in glass jars that will allow you to see the kitchen staples without wasting any time. It will also add an old French style to your pantry. Another easy way of identification is adding labels. It is a great way to keep track of your inventory. Adding similar type of labels to the ingredient jars and boxes will also add an element of uniformity and character in the place.

Baskets for Small Ingredients

Baskets are a safe option when organizing. Whether wire or woven, baskets and plastic bins can be used for storing anything. In fact, they can not only store bulkier products but can be the solution to mild hoarding problem as well. Keep the small items including toothpicks, napkins, fast-fix appetizers, and trays that you often need in your kitchen in small baskets or bins. This will keep the small items together that will otherwise be scattered throughout the pantry.

Resort to Hanging Style

The key to any organization project is to make the most of the space you have. So, using hooks and other hanging options will be effective in carving out more room in your pantry. Especially, this option can be used for pots and pans, which will otherwise take much space of the place. Bulky cookware that usually take bigger space and can be lost in a heap in the pantry can also be hung in this style.
