Thanks Simple Design for these great tips. Here’s how to make your customized clothing rack:
Prepare and acquire all the materials needed
Walk around your house. Not just your house but to any place where you can find a wood. Find a wood branch so hangers can hang on it and make sure it is thick enough so it won’t break. The wood is not necessarily straight. You also need two 2” X 3” X 60” wood for vertical support and two 2” X 2” X 16” for surface support. Other materials you need to have are four 2-inch bolt, electric drill and bits, and crescent wrench.
Assemble the clothing rack
Cut the branch to fit its length and make sure it is vertically flat. Measurement should be according to the convenience of your reach when you use the clothing rack. Drill holes at least 1 inch deep at the center of the flat surface of the branch. Bolt in the flat thick wood to the end the vertical surface of the branch. Now, you can see a T-shape assembly. You have to form two T-shape wooden rack to form the stand. These will serve as your base. Then, you have two vertical T-shaped base for firm supports.
Do the finishing touches
Install and tighten the bolts, enough to support so that it will not break. Do this with the lag bolt at the other end of the branch. You will notice that the final result would be a bit crooked but it is fine since we wanted to preserve the natural look of the wood branch. You may apply maple varnish paint, if desired.
Now, you don’t have to walk around the appliance center for clothing rack. All you need to do is to walk around your backyard.
