Apple Cobbler Ingredients:

⅓ cup of white sugar

½ cup of white sugar

½ cup of light brown sugar

½ cup of butter (chopped into pieces)

½ tsp of ground ginger

¼ tsp of ground nutmeg

1 cup of all-purpose flour

1 tsp of ground cinnamon

1 tbsp of cornstarch

1 cup of chopped walnuts

1 pinch of salt

2 tbsp of lemon juice

6 cups of apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)

Apple Cobbler Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, flour, ½ tsp of cinnamon, ½ cup of white sugar, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. Using your fingers or a fork, add in the butter. Mix thoroughly until coarse crumbs form. Incorporate the walnuts and set aside.
  3. Mix the ginger, cornstarch, ½ tsp of cinnamon, and ⅓ cup of sugar. Put the apples in a Crockpot and integrate the cornstarch mixture. Add the lemon juice.
  4. Add the walnut blend on top. Cover the Crockpot and cook on high heat for 2 hours then on low heat for 4 hours. Cook until the apples are tender.
  5. Uncover the slow cooker partially to allow the topping to become hard (for approximately one hour).

Share with Us your Best Slow Cooker Recipe:

We always love hearing what type of recipes you make for your family? What is your best slow cooker dessert recipe? Even if you don’t like cobblers as much as you like pies, you will love this apple cobbler. The topping is absolutely delicious! Serve the cobbler when it is still warm as it tastes great. However, you can also serve it at room temperature. Add whipped cream or ice cream to make it tastier. If you don’t take refined sugars, use sugar substitutes. You can also use oatmeal instead of nuts.

This is a great dessert for office pot lucks. You can prepare everything the night before (Squeeze some lemon on the apples to prevent them from discoloring) and put everything in different bags (cornstarch mixture, apples, and topping). Everyone will enjoy this perfectly cooked dessert – whether it’s your family or colleagues.

How would you make this recipe better? We’d love to hear your Crockpot recipe ideas!
