Apple Cobbler Ingredients:
⅓ cup of white sugar
½ cup of white sugar
½ cup of light brown sugar
½ cup of butter (chopped into pieces)
½ tsp of ground ginger
¼ tsp of ground nutmeg
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1 tsp of ground cinnamon
1 tbsp of cornstarch
1 cup of chopped walnuts
1 pinch of salt
2 tbsp of lemon juice
6 cups of apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
Apple Cobbler Directions:
- In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, flour, ½ tsp of cinnamon, ½ cup of white sugar, salt, and nutmeg.
- Using your fingers or a fork, add in the butter. Mix thoroughly until coarse crumbs form. Incorporate the walnuts and set aside.
- Mix the ginger, cornstarch, ½ tsp of cinnamon, and ⅓ cup of sugar. Put the apples in a Crockpot and integrate the cornstarch mixture. Add the lemon juice.
- Add the walnut blend on top. Cover the Crockpot and cook on high heat for 2 hours then on low heat for 4 hours. Cook until the apples are tender.
- Uncover the slow cooker partially to allow the topping to become hard (for approximately one hour).
